Container Flexitank Loading Technology

The loading process is crucial for the safety of container flexitank transportation and is a key element in the overall process. Manufacturers, sellers, shippers, and carriers of container flexitanks create specific loading guidelines based on the transported cargo to ensure the safety of flexitank loading.

  1. Container Selection: For container flexitank transportation, it is advisable to choose a 20-foot standard dry cargo container with an age between 2 to 5 years. Excessive container age may lead to potential leakage risks due to deformation or repairs. Conversely, containers with a very short lifespan may negatively impact the flexitank and cargo due to smoothness issues with the floor and the presence of paint odors.

  2. Container Inspection: Inspection criteria include checking for odors, burrs, fragments, or residues from previous cargo inside the container. Additionally, inspect the container floor for stains, wood splinters, screws, nails, or other sharp protrusions. Check for paint peeling or corrosion at the junction of the container's inner wall and the bottom beam. Examine the exterior for bulges, depressions, light leakage from the top, and the integrity of handle locks. Ensure there is no deformation in the groove lines on the inside of the door.

  3. Protecting Inner Walls and Floor: Protective measures involve using U-shaped cardboard to cover rope loops inside the container. Lay corrugated cardboard slightly higher than the maximum height after loading the flexitank on the inner walls and floor of the container, folding it upwards by at least 3 cm along the edges to integrate with the cardboard on the inner walls.

  4. Flexitank Installation: Position the flexitank and its accessories in the middle of the container floor, aligning it neatly to the right side of the container using the door as a reference. Unfold the flexitank vertically and horizontally, ensuring it is centered on the container floor.

  5. Door Stop Installation: Install the door stop inside the groove on the inner side of the container and secure it with bolts to alleviate the pushing force on the container door caused by the movement of liquid cargo inside. Ensure that the height of the corrugated cardboard folded upwards on the floor is greater than the height of the door stop to prevent direct collision.

  6. Valve Installation: Open the valve cover, install the valve stopper on the valve, pass the front end of the flexitank and the valve through the opening of the door stop. Secure the valve mouth with valve clamps and straps, pull the valve out of the door stop, tighten the straps, and confirm that the clamps are fully seated in the valve groove. Finally, close the valve and replace the safety valve cover.

  7. Apply Labels: Affix warning labels such as "Do Not Open Left Door," "Caution: Bulk Liquid," and operational procedures like "Unloading Instructions" on the exterior of the container.

  8. Commence Loading: Close and lock the left container door, connect the liquid loading hose to the flexitank using a quick universal joint, and begin filling the liquid. A pressure pump can be used during the loading process to enhance efficiency. The loading time for non-viscous liquid cargo typically does not exceed 30 minutes.
